The Colorless Man - AI Is Opening Up A New Era of Opportunity

Unless you've been hiding under a rock, you've witnessed massive AI disruption in how we marketing, grow our businesses, sell our solutions, and live our lives. While many are threatened by the disruption AI presents, others are leveraging the new technology to expand their capabilities in some really compelling and creative ways.

If you're familiar with tools like Sora, there are some major changes happening to movie and television studios. What once required a massive team and budget is now feasible with an individual, some AI tools and a PC. At least that is what has been promised by some credible experts. However, the content I've seen has been very much artificial, coming from Artificial Intelligence. 

Recently, however, I was introduced to an exciting project called The Colorless Man, which stands as a testament to AI's capacity to augment human creativity rather than threaten it. Crafted by Hashem Al-Ghaili, this AI-assisted short film, 17 minutes in length, was produced in just two weeks with a modest budget of $600, utilizing tools like ChatGPT, MidJourney, Dreamina, Kling AI, ElevenLabs, and Suno AI. 

If you haven't heard of some of those tools, just know that they are all readily accessible and have a learning curve that is significantly less than most software on the market. 

While $600 may seem like a lot, Hashem shared that a similar project done by a studio would require a team of 70 people and would cost been $250,000-$300,000. Talk about a proverbial drop in the bucket.

I'm not personally ready to produce a 17 minute short film, but I am definitely realizing I've had short-sighted thinking about what AI can do for me and my business. I'm comfortable with ChatGPT, but I realize it's time to expand my horizons and explore what's possible. AI isn't going anywhere, so we might as well embrace it's potential instead of fearing what it's going to displace.
